“Max nimble” setting with corrugated digital production
By Jeff Jolley, Director of Value Engineering and Design, The Royal Group
In the old digital printing days, the only things you could run on a digital press were small, low quantity jobs. But what a difference now…
The requirements for today’s corrugated production are constantly reducing material runtimes, faster speed to market and meeting demand for high-speed automation – all done sustainably.
Modern digital printing is providing the ideal platform to meet the increasing demands of an ever-changing marketplace
The Delta SPC 130 single pass press from Koenig & Bauer Durst is answering the challenges. In fact, the sky’s the limit.
Larger customers are recognising the opportunities offered by variable digital production, especially when print jobs can be turned around so quickly
In the past we would have had to organize tooling, order print plates, and get everything in-house before we could begin production. But now we can go from corrugated sheets to completed product in the same day.
TRG is a very nimble company. Having a digital press is the icing on the cake in allowing us to adapt very quickly to customer requirements.
I feel TRG is now at “max nimble” setting because we can go from approved art to print on corrugated in under an hour without the need for print tooling. The application for this print technology and speed to market is unlimited.
